University of The Free State Closing Dates, The University of the Free State is a multi campus public university in Bloemfontein, the capital of the Free State. As part of the mission to become ‘a university recognised across the world for excellence in academic achievement and in human reconciliation’, the university, its staff, students and alumni play a pivotal role in the central parts of South Africa, the country as a whole, the region, Africa and abroad.  Academic Divisions include: Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Natural and Agricultural Sciences, Humanities and Theology.

Requirements / APS

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC)
  • 4 Subjects with achievement level of 3 (40% – 49%)
  • University Free State (UFS) Admission Point (AP): minimum 20
  • Language of instruction: (English) Minimum achievement level 3 (40%)
  • Economic & Management Sciences: You need a minimum achievement level of 3 (40%) for Mathematics to be able to study in this option.
  • Natural Sciences:  You need a minimum achievement level of 3 (40%) for Mathematics and Life Sciences OR Physical Sciences to be able to study in this option.
  • B. Agric Agricultural Sciences: You need a minimum achievement level of 3 (40%) for Mathematics or a minimum achievement level of 6 (70%) for Mathematical Literacy to be able to study in this option.

In the subject Life Orientation you need an achievement level of 5 (60%) or higher to score only 1 point when calculating your admission Point (AP).
